LONG BEACH -- After a one-year hiatus, the men's swimming state championship trophy is back in familiar surroundings.
 
With a dominating performance from start to finish, the Orange Coast College men's swim team wrapped up its third state title in four years on Saturday at the COA-CCCAA Swimming and Diving Championships, held at the Belmont Plaza.
 
OCC's men finished with 655 points, an incredible 263 points higher than state runner-up Santa Rosa (392). Ventura (339), Diablo Valley (304) and Golden West (289) round out the top five.

COSTA MESA -- The Orange Coast College men's and women's track teams each finished in second place at the 2009 Orange Empire Conference Track and Field Championships on Friday at OCC.
 
The Coast women finished with 243 points, finishing behind Riverside's 308 points. On the men's side, the result was the same as Riverside placed first with 317 points and OCC (158) took runner-up.

COSTA MESA -- While the Orange Coast College men's basketball team did a good job at limiting the number of shots taken by visiting Fullerton, the Hornets simply solved that problem by making nearly everything they threw towards the basket.
 
Hitting 73.9 percent of their shots (17-of-23), the Hornets jumped ahead and cruised to an 86-59 Orange Empire Conference win over the host Pirates on Friday night at the Peterson Gym.
